The Big Debate

In 2013, Times of Malta’s media team organised a live debate featuring the then-Prime Minister Lawrence Gonzi and Leader of the Opposition Joseph Muscat in the run-up to the general elections. The event was a massive success, with plaudits to the journalism team for their hard-hitting and fair coverage. The debate played to a packed house and was transmitted live on two of Malta’s major television stations – ONE TV and Net TV. This event led to the ideation of Times of Malta’s first programme for broadcast media - #TIMES talk.

#TIMES talk

#TIMES talk

Now in its second year, #TIMES talk is Times of Malta’s highly successful current events programme playing on TVM, Malta’s public broadcasting channel. Aired live every Tuesday at 6.45pm, the programme tackles current events and shines the spotlight on matters of national and international interest, with the participation of leading exponents in the field. It is presented by Times of Malta’s Head of Media Herman Grech and Chief Reporter Mark Micallef . A survey commissioned by the Broadcasting Authority and conducted by the National Statistics Office in 2014 ranked #TIMES talk as the most followed current affairs programme in the pre-news hour on TVM.

Pink fashion show

The Pink Fashion Show

Times of Malta began organising fashion shows under its Pink brand in November 2013. The very first show was held at the Malta Aviation Museum and was a resounding success. This continued with every show after, with the latest being held in November 2014 to mark the 10th anniversary of Pink magazine and the launch of the new magazine Places: Design & Living . The shows are held at different enthralling venues each time, with a lot of effort being made to turn the evening into a stunning night out for attendees. Each show plays to a packed house of over 450, with the participation of leading clothing brands and sponsors.

The Business Observer Breakfast

The Business Observer Breakfast was born as a result of Times to Talk, a series of morning events focused on specific topics, such as immigration, the role of the Catholic Church in Malta, which saw the participation of a panel of experts discussing the issue at hand and answering to questions from the floor. There was a clear thirst for this calibre of event locally, with each one playing to a packed house. The Business Observer Breakfast was a natural progression, focusing more on the economic aspect and building on the new masthead launched by Times of Malta.
