Alex Galea joined Allied Newspapers Limited in October 1996. He has occupied various roles in the organisation, ranging from administrative to managerial, mostly in the commercial sphere. In 2008, he was appointed to head the company’s sales division, responsible for overseeing and managing the department’s function, both in terms of resources and overall direction, including the achievement of set sales objectives and targets. In January 2015, Alex was subsequently appointed the Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, with the primary task of giving direction in the areas of business development, sales, customer service, and marketing. Alex holds the position of Group Chief Operating Officer as from November 2017, and his key responsibilities include IT strategy, staffing and human resource management, procurement planning and operational efficiency. Alex is an MBA graduate and holds a Masters degree in Knowledge-Based Entrepreneurship from the University of Malta. With over 10 years’ experience in a corporate environment, he has witnessed significant shifts in local media and advertising consumption, and has been exposed to working with and supporting a large number of corporations and SMEs.
